You may have heard of the Community Investment Gateway and wondered what it is, who’s involved, and how it relates to you and your organisation. Keep reading to find out…

The Community Investment Gateway is a fair and transparent way of channelling funding to Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations across Wakefield District. The Gateway was launched in January 2021 (under the name Third Sector Framework) and is a partnership between Nova Wakefield District, Wakefield Council, Wakefield District Health and Care Partnership and Young Lives Consortium.

To date, we’ve channelled more than £3.5 million of funding to VCSE organisations through the Gateway.

What do I need to know about Gateway membership?

  • It’s free and gives you access to local funding opportunities.
  • It’s open to all sizes of organisation with proportionate requirements.
  • It marks you as a trusted provider for funders and commissioners.
  • It saves you time through our streamlined funding applications.
  • It helps you get everything together that funders want to see.
  • It gives you access to capacity building support, including skill sharing and peer support.

Is my organisation eligible?

To be eligible for Gateway membership, organisations must:

  1. operate in the VCSE sector
  2. provide Health and Wellbeing services and activities in line with the four priorities set by the Wakefield Health and Wellbeing Board
  3. be ‘locally-rooted’ in Wakefield District
  4. be committed to sharing skills, expertise and best practice
