The online resource for children and young people in Wakefield

 

www.WF-I Can Emotional Wellbeing Resource for young people.

The website was developed during in response to young people saying they wanted a space with reliable information, we worked with 22 organisations and service areas to develop the site.

The Risk and Resilience Framework

The West Yorkshire Neurodiversity Programme and All Star, have developed high-quality, practical, and accessible resources to support neurodivergent individuals and their families across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, and Wakefield.

Routes and Routines: a resource for children, young people and their families

 

 

 

  • National Forum & Survey – Children’s Commissioner
    This is a chance for young people to help shape the direction of research and policy carried out by the Children’s Commissioner’s team.
    • The Forum is an ongoing role for those who’d like to be more frequently involved in work like this.
    • The Survey is a one-off opportunity for young people to share their views without the need for a longer-term commitment.

The National Lottery have opened The Million Hours Fund:  This funding is for organisations to give extra support to young people in areas with higher rates of anti-social behaviour. We’ll fund extra hours of youth work to give these young people more places to go and positive things to do.

  Henry Smith Foundation - Holiday Grants for Children

Grants are available for schools, youth groups, not-for-profit organisations, and charities to provide access to one-off recreational trips or holidays for groups of children aged 13 years and younger who experience disadvantage or disability and live in an area of high deprivation.

Pixel Fund Accepting Applications for 2025

The Pixel Fund is offering grants of between £2,500 and £5,000 for UK-registered charities to deliver projects and activities that promote the mental health and wellbeing of children and young adults aged under 26 years old and provide a measurable difference to the group’s users.

To apply, groups must book a place at an applicant pre-meeting, which will be held regularly throughout the year.

Young people (aged 13+) in Wakefield can apply for up to £1000 to run a project that:

  • Is creative, active, or cultural
  • Benefits other young people (up to age 18, or 25 if vulnerable)
  • Makes a positive difference in your community

🎯 Who Can Apply?

  • Young people aged 13 and over
  • You must live in South East Wakefield, City Centre, or the Five Towns
  • You need an organisation to support you and manage the money
