Measuring Wellbeing
This free resource, a handbook on measuring well-being, from the New Economics Foundation (NEF) is designed for voluntary organisations and community groups. For those of you currently wrestling with how to measure levels wellbeing as an indicator of project outcomes, it is worth a look. Three different sections cover:
• Tools for thinking about well-being and its measurement
• Recommended practical methods for measuring well-being
• Guidance on analysis and interpretation.
It comes out of work with the Big Lottery Fund, and will be a useful way of helping groups get to grips with a fairly difficult process. Also, as it contains recognised and accepted methods of collecting data, this can make evidence more credible and even allow comparisons between different projects.
